Worried Bird Window & Exterior Cleaning

Window Cleaning

Glass, frames, sills, and tracks — inside and out.

Window Cleaning

Glass gets dirty slowly, which is why it gets left. Nobody picks a day for the windows. You notice all at once — low sun through the front room, or standing at the sink — and by then it's the whole house, not a window.

You can do the ground floor yourself. The second story is where it stops being worth it: the reach, the footing, and gear you'd buy for one house and nothing else. It isn't complicated work. It's just not worth setting up for. That's the part we're for.

Windows are one of the few things on a house you can check yourself. Stand inside on a bright day, look at the glass instead of through it, then look at the corners. Either it's right or it isn't. Your crew works on the assumption that you will.

Window Cleaning questions

What's included in a window cleaning?

Glass, frames, sills, and tracks — inside and out. Most companies quote you for glass and stop there, which is why your windows look clean and the tracks still have last winter's grit in them. Step 4 of our process is Detail, and it's specifically the sills, tracks, and edges. Screens get a basic clean as part of the job; a deep screen clean or a rescreen is a separate add-on.

How much does window cleaning cost?

Your price comes from the window count, the size and style of the windows, how many stories, how easy they are to reach, and how dirty they are when we get there. We don't quote sight-unseen. Step 1 is Look — we count the actual windows and confirm the number with you before work starts.

Do you clean inside windows too, or exterior only?

Either. Most people book inside and out, but exterior-only is common in spring and fall, and interior-only comes up before parties and after remodels. Exterior-only doesn't require anyone home. Interior work needs an adult on site and windows unlocked. Tell us which you want at the quote stage — it changes the price and the time on site.

How long does it take?

A typical single-family home with 15 to 25 windows runs a couple of hours for inside and out. Exterior-only is faster. Add time for heavy hard-water treatment, deep screen cleaning, or a house that hasn't been done in several years. Your local owner will give you a window when they confirm the quote so you're not blocking off a whole day.

Do I need to move furniture or prep anything?

Very little. Clear anything fragile off the sills — that's the main one — and move small breakables away from the glass. The crew will shift a lamp or a small side table that's in the way and put it back. Heavy or valuable pieces we'd rather you move yourself. Unlock the windows you want opened, and put pets somewhere they won't slip out an open door.

How high can you reach?

Three stories, and that is a ceiling rather than a starting point — we work from ladders and water-fed extension poles, and we do not take on anything above three stories. If your home has a hard-to-reach stairwell window, a vaulted great room, or glass over a roofline, mention it when you ask for your Worry Free Quote so your owner brings the right equipment the first time.

What do you clean with? Is it safe for my landscaping and pets?

Purified water and professional-grade cleaning solutions, chosen for the surface and the level of soil. Purified water is the workhorse — it dries without leaving mineral spots, which is what causes streaking. Heavier hard-water work uses stronger products at controlled dilutions and gets rinsed thoroughly. We would still keep pets indoors while we work: doors and windows are open and there is a ladder in the yard, and that is the simplest way to keep everyone out of each other's way.

What happens if it rains right after you clean?

Rain by itself is mostly clean water and usually doesn't undo the job — what marks glass is the dirt rain washes down off a filthy frame, or wind-blown grit hitting wet glass. If a storm hits right after your service and the exterior glass looks bad, tell your local owner. They did the work, they live there, and they are the one who decides how to put it right.
